The rumours are true – it really is all about Florence! 💃🎉🍷
Out of all the places I’ve visited in this world, from South America, New Zealand, safari bites in Kenya, Asian dining, island hopping, and a whole lot of Europe, it’s got to be said – Italy just never fails.
In the past couple of years I started with Rome, then just had to dine my way around around the romantic water place of Venice, to the Amalfi Coast staying up in the beautiful hills of Ravello, I’ve now finally visited my final “must-go” Italian place in the wonderful city of Florence. Filled with art, culture, and damn good Italian food & wine 🍝🍷
Standard pre-dinner wine & nibbles in every place we went…Let’s start with the coolest place to go for wine and introduce yourself to the way Italians live – Il Santino! Now, this is possibly the tiniest place to go, so you have to be willing to wait your turn, but is a serious must-go place located in the coolest area of Florence, across the river of the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge.
Hello Il Santo Bevitore 🙋
And hello to the best Spaghetti Bolognese in the world 🍝☺️This home-made pasta was truely how mama used to make it!! Cooked from scratch, the Italians really know how to make a good bolly 💃And of course the special of the day – beef carpaccio (sorry to all the veggies out there but I was in heaven)…
On to the next night and it was another evening filled with pasta, wine, and generally loving life 😍
Il Latino – admittedly, a tourist trap some might say, but I still found this place to be rustic, delivered home-cooked food and a great location from where we were staying in the heart of the city. I hope this has given you a few ideas for your next adventure – obviously Michelangelo’s David has to be seen…
